Character Counter
Count characters, with and without spaces, in your text, instantly in your browser.
How to use the Character Counter
- Type or paste your text.
- Click Run to see the character count with spaces, without spaces, and other text statistics.
- Edit your text and run again until it fits the limit you need.
How the Character Counter works
Characters with spaces is the full length of your text, including spaces, punctuation and line breaks. Characters without spaces removes every whitespace character (spaces, tabs and line breaks) before counting.
Limits to keep in mind: X (Twitter) posts allow 280 characters, a single SMS holds 160 GSM characters, search engines typically show about 150 to 160 characters of a meta description, and page titles are cut off at around 60 characters.
