QR Code Generator

Create a free QR code for a website URL, Wi-Fi network, vCard contact, email, SMS or phone number in seconds. Customize the colors, module and eye shapes, border and frame, add your own logo, then download a high-resolution PNG that's ready to print or share. Codes never expire and there's no signup.

How to use the QR Code Generator

  1. Choose what the QR code should contain: a URL or text, a Wi-Fi network, a vCard contact, an email, an SMS or a phone number.
  2. Fill in the details. For a Wi-Fi QR code enter the network name (SSID), password and security type; for a vCard QR code enter the contact's name, phone, email and company.
  3. Optionally customize the design: size, foreground and background colors, module shape, eye style, border, a "Scan me" frame and a center logo.
  4. Click Run to generate the QR code, scan it with your phone camera to test it, then download the PNG.

How the QR Code Generator works

A QR code stores text in a grid of black and white modules. What a phone does when it scans the code depends on how that text is formatted, so the generator converts your details into the standard format for each type: a plain URL opens in the browser, a WIFI:T:WPA;S:network;P:password;; string lets Android and iPhone cameras join the network with one tap, a vCard 3.0 block (BEGIN:VCARD) offers to save a new contact, and mailto:, SMSTO: and tel: links open a pre-filled email, text message or phone call.

The encoded text is then turned into a QR symbol using Reed-Solomon error correction. The error correction level controls how much of the code can be damaged or covered and still scan: Low recovers about 7%, Medium 15%, Quartile 25% and High 30%. When you add a logo, error correction is automatically raised to High so the area hidden behind the logo can be recovered. These are static QR codes: the content is stored in the code itself, so it works offline and never expires.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator free?
Yes. Generate unlimited QR codes at no cost, with no account required.
What can I encode in a QR code?
Website URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi network credentials, vCard contact cards, pre-filled emails, SMS messages, and phone numbers.
How do I create a WiFi QR code?
Choose "Wi-Fi network" as the QR code type, enter your network name (SSID) and password, pick the security type (usually WPA/WPA2/WPA3), and click Run. Guests can then scan the code with their phone camera to join the network without typing the password.
How do I make a vCard QR code for a business card?
Choose "Contact (vCard)" as the QR code type and fill in the name, phone, email, company, job title, and website. Scanning the code offers to save the details straight into the phone's contacts, which makes it ideal for business cards and name badges.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. These are static QR codes: the content is stored inside the code itself rather than behind a redirect link, so they keep working forever and don't track scans.
What does error correction level control?
Higher error correction keeps the code scannable even if part of it is damaged or obscured, at the cost of a denser pattern.
Can I add a logo to the center of my QR code?
Yes. Upload a PNG or JPEG under 3 MB and it will be placed in the center with a background so the code stays scannable. Error correction is automatically set to High whenever a logo is used.
What do the frame options do?
Frames add a decorative border or a "scan me" label bar around the QR code, useful for print materials like posters or table tents.
