How to use the Barcode Generator

How the Barcode Generator works
Each symbology has its own rules for turning characters into bars or modules. EAN-13 and UPC-A are fixed-length numeric codes with a final check digit: enter 12 digits (or 11 for UPC-A) and the generator calculates the check digit for you, or enter the full code and it is verified. Code 128 can encode any ASCII text and automatically switches between its character sets to keep the barcode short.
Data Matrix and Aztec are two-dimensional codes that store data in a grid with built-in error correction, so they hold far more in a small space and remain readable when slightly damaged. A clear quiet zone around the code and strong contrast between foreground and background are essential for reliable scanning, so keep dark bars on a light background.
