How the PDF Unlock works
The tool opens the encrypted PDF with the password you provide, which decrypts its content, and then saves a new copy without any security settings. Text, images, links and layout are unchanged.
This is for removing a password you already know from a document you're entitled to modify, for example so you can merge, split or edit it. It cannot crack or recover an unknown password. To add a new password afterwards, use Password Protect PDF.
