How the Random String Generator works
Each character is picked from the combined set of character types you selected, using your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator. Excluding look-alike characters removes i, l, 1, L, o, 0 and O so strings are easier to read and type.
Random strings are useful for API keys in development, temporary identifiers, coupon codes and test fixtures. For identifiers that need a standard format, use the UUID or NanoID generators instead.
