How to use the Countdown Timer
- Pick the target date and time.
- Optionally give the event a name, such as "Summer vacation".
- Click Run to start the live countdown.
- Keep the page open: the days, hours, minutes and seconds update every second.
How the Countdown Timer works
Every second, the timer subtracts the current time from your target and splits the remaining milliseconds into days, hours, minutes and seconds. The target is interpreted in your device's local time zone, so a countdown to midnight on New Year's Eve ends at midnight where you are.
The timer runs only while the page is open and doesn't send notifications. To count the days between two dates without a live clock, use the Date Difference Calculator.
