Open Graph Preview
Preview how a URL will look when shared on social media, based on its Open Graph and meta tags.
How to use the Open Graph Preview
- Enter the full URL of the page, including https://.
- Click Run to fetch the page and build its social share preview.
- Check the title, description and image, then fix any missing tags with the Meta Tag Generator.
How the Open Graph Preview works
Our server fetches the page's HTML, the same way social networks' crawlers do, and reads its Open Graph tags: og:title, og:description, og:image and og:site_name. If a tag is missing, it falls back to the page's <title> and meta description, which is roughly what the platforms do.
The preview shows what your link card is likely to look like. Platforms cache previews, so after changing tags you may need to refresh them with each platform's own debugging tool. Pages that block automated requests or require a login can't be previewed.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this tool free?
- Yes. Preview a page's social share card at no cost, with no account required.
- Where does the preview data come from?
- The page is fetched server-side and its Open Graph tags (or fallback title/meta description) are extracted to build the preview.
- Why didn't an image or description show up?
- The page may not define og:image, og:description, or a meta description tag, or it may block automated requests.
